cold season

Since it's cold season I thought I'd post this immune-boosting soup recipe that I got from my days of working at the apothecary. The measurements aren't exact, but you'll get the idea.

IMMUNITY SOUP

1 bulb of garlic (that's right, a whole bulb, not just a clove)
1 large onion
2 carrots (actually I just cut up a whole bunch of those mini snack carrots)
2 green or red peppers
1 tblsp minced ginger root (or tsp of ground ginger)
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 astragulus capsule opened up and mashed (buy from any health food store and pop them anyway because they help)
chicken/veggie broth depending on your dietary leanings

After eating this, get under the covers and let yourself sweat for awhile. Maybe even cap off the night with a hot bath with eucalyptus drops in it to get rid of stuffiness. Then sleep. You'll feel much happier in the morning.
